Part Two of my "How I Spent My Summer Vacation" series.
Call me old fashioned. It's cool. I'm a man who loves a good steak and a cocktail with some old school atmosphere and service. I won't deny it. I also love the sound of standards on a piano while I'm trying to relax and digest, not some "ooncy" electronic stuff or whiney pop. Whenever I'm in Park City, my needs are more than met by a trip to Prime for an aged Midwestern bone-in ribeye done perfectly rare.
I'm told that there is fish and dessert on the menu at Prime, but I'm too busy with my Manhattan, meat, garlic mashers and a glass of pinot noir from the ample wine list to bother with what is going on atop everyone else's plate. Sure, thrown on some sautéed spinach. Look! I'm a health nut!
Okay, I'll step out of character here for a moment and mention that I have tried the French onion soup and the crab cakes, both of which are well worth ordering.
Whether you're in Park City in winter for skiing or summer for fishing, hiking and rafting treat yourself to a trip to Prime.
Prime. Steak. Do it.
Tomorrow: Part Three of my four part series takes me to new heights and brings the butter (fish).
