Breakfast in America: Tahoe House Bakery

Apologies to anyone with Supertramp stuck in their heads. Congratulations if you don't know who that is - you've dodged a major ear worm.

From time to time Chowbacca! will travel around this glorious country and have the most important meal of the day.

Recently we were on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe. Here's where we ate:

Tahoe House Bakery is in Tahoe City, about 20 minutes south of Truckee on the West Shore.

In addition to having the usual fare for a bakery - which is to say, all the things I want to eat - Tahoe House is famous for their pre-packaged breakfast sandwiches available on English muffin or a sizeable croissant. If you ask, they will customize the breakfast sandwich (which consists of scrambled eggs, baby spinach, sausage, ham or bacon and cheese) - we'd love to try it on ciabatta.

Take home and reheat or ask them to heat it for you in the store and sit on their patio and look at pine trees. You choose.

Hey, gotta get those calories in before that mountain hike, am I right?
