The Beers of Summer: Uinta Brewing Skipping Stone Summer Lager

Smooth Drinking Summer Lager

Summer begins to breathe its last grassy breaths this weekend as vacation time ends and, heh, Labor Day begins. As summer passes, the beers of summer are still around to enjoy until the leaves begin to fall. I spent part of my summer in the Deer Valley/Park City area of Utah. While I was there I sampled some of the local beer offerings. This week I'll share three summer beers and one for fall from a couple of Utah breweries.

First up is Uinta Brewing of Salt Lake City's Skipping Stone Summer Lager. Produced with wind and solar power, as are all of Uinta's brews, Skipping Stone is victory of a summer lager. Light-medium bodied, with just enough carbonation, Skipping stone is pale malts, light, grassy hops, and crisp floral notes. It's as uncomplicated as a summer day, this lager is smooth drinking for porch, picnic, or patio. Enjoy one while summer is still around.
